Random Tidbits

Well...our last couple of weeks have actually been pretty uneventful, mostly because it's starting to feel like we're just working...all...the...time.  But that's okay, we still make a little time each weekend (which is basically one full day) to do something fun in the city.
Some random tidbits to share-
Mahoney now goes to doggy day camp every Thursday.  We're told she likes to "follow the other dogs around", and she's made good friends with one of the "regulars" who has been going there every week day for 6 years.  We're pretty sure Mahoney loves day camp, because she now hops into her travel bag in the wee hours of the morning (before 6am), and is ready to go.  Yes, I realize we report on her as if she's a human child, but hey, that's our life right now and we love her. :)

We've also evolved into a routine in which I get to take the car to work on Fridays, because Mass works from home.  It's also the day I take all of our laundry to the laundromat during my mid-afternoon break from work.  Mahoney loves laundry day, and without fail, climbs into the warm pile of fresh clothes as soon as I get home and dump it out onto the bed.

Please excuse the fact that our bed isn't made.  It usually is.  Embarrassing, but whatever. :)

Each week, Mass and I get one full day off together. Sunday.  And we definitely try to make the most of it.  Other than a routine trip to Whole Foods, which is actually our idea of fun, we're still trying to visit new neighborhoods and try new restaurants.  Last weekend we had a blast watching the 49'ers beat the Saints, in an amazingly exciting, down-to-the-last-seconds game.  We had a great spot in a local restaurant/bar, and the whole city was alive.  People were out, dressed in their red, and every local establishment was packed.  I had to snap a photo of the "SF girl uniform", we call it.  Now to be fair, this isn't the uniform of every girl in every neighborhood, but if you walk the streets of the Marina, Cow Hollow, or Russian Hill, you will find girls with long hair, dressed in skinny pants, tall brown boots, with slouchy handbags.

There were actually quite a few more, but I couldn't get them all in the photo, especially without getting caught. )

Yesterday we spent part of our afternoon in North Beach, getting our favorite slice of pizza and a scoop of gelato (before getting an eye exam. Exciting, I know)  It was a gorgeous but chilly day in Washington Square park. Notice the lack of people playing hackie sack or throwing various things around (frisbees, footballs, etc.)  It's recently gotten quite cold here, but I will definitely not complain, as I've seen more pictures of Seattle snow on Facebook than I could possibly count.

So that's our thrilling update.  Mass is fully immersed in the project management/consulting world of spreadsheets and speaking in acronyms, and I can honestly say I really love my job(s).  We're a bit more sleep deprived these days, and always miss our friends & family in Seattle (and Claremont). But for now, we're enjoying this city life as much as possible.
